Small Business BC "Local Leaders" Event

Successful business stories start here. “A leader’s job is not to do the work for others, it’s to help others figure out how to do it themselves, to get things done, and to succeed beyond what they thought possible.” - Simon Sinek

Empowering the businesses of tomorrow starts with inspiriting stories from today’s real-life business leaders. For the first time, Small Business BC held their Local Leaders Series in the Fraser Valley which was hosted by the Township of Langley.

Four local leading entrepreneurs who have taken a business idea and created a successful business venture spoke at the event attended by some 200 people from across the lower mainland:

  • Sandee Krause, co-founder of Krause Berry Farms & Estate Winery
  • Emma Jane Davison, owner and cheesemaker of Golden Ears Cheesecrafters
  • Diane Morrison, founder and general manager of Wendel’s Bookstore & Café, and Wendel’s True Foods
  • Sam Waddington, founder of Mt. Waddington’s Outdoors, and Chilliwack City Councillor
  • Jack Froese, Township of Langley Mayor, and founder of JD Farms Specialty Turkey

Attendees networked with other entrepreneurs while enjoying complimentary appetizers and beverages sponsored by Chaberton Estate Winery from Old Abbey Ales.
