Patio Season: Corks + Caps + Brews!

Patio season is upon us and with four new additions to the craft beer scene joining the two microbreweries that already call the Township home, as well as 10 wineries, a cidery, and a distillery, there are plenty of options for enjoying a libation in the summer sunshine.

Lush farmland and ideal growing conditions for vines gave a strong start to the Township as a niche wine community in the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver region over the last decade. As the craft brewers caught wind of the business-friendly practices of the Township and community support for the local industry, copper vats went up, taps turned on, and doors opened to the first craft breweries in our municipality.

Complementing this emerging industry is Kwantlen Polytechnic University, which introduced a Brewing and Brewery Operations diploma program, the first of its kind in Canada, alongside a fully functioning Brew Lab.

And what better way to kickoff the summer than with a festival to quench every taste bud. Join us for the Fort Langley Beer + Food Truck Festival, hosted by the Fort Langley National Historic Site on Saturday, May 18, 2019.

As an official member of the BC Ale Trail, the Township truly is growing into a wine and beer hub, and going through what can only be described as a brewing boom!
