Tis the season….to Volunteer!

Looking for a way to give back to the community this holiday season? Consider volunteering for a local non-profit organization.

Every year during the holiday season, many charities are in need of help, making it the perfect time to encourage family, friends, employees, teams, and colleagues to spread holiday care and compassion by giving back to your community.

Not sure where to help? Here are a few local non-profit organizations looking for volunteers:

Immigrant Services Society of BC – Langley

The Immigrant Services Society of BC (ISSofBC) has a volunteer program that provides many volunteering opportunities for a variety of different activities that support newcomers.

Langley Christmas Bureau

The Langley Christmas Bureau is the only Christmas Bureau from Vancouver to Hope and operates fully on a volunteer basis. They have many options to volunteer or donate, such as adopting a family in need, making toy, food, or financial donations, or even just helping at the bureau.

Langley Volunteers

Langley Volunteers Bureau is a centralized resource where several organizations have come together to guide people to volunteering opportunities in Langley. A few organizations currently looking for Volunteers include Langley Seniors Resource Society, Langley Meals on Wheels, Langley Memorial Hospital, and Langley Hospice.

Operation Red Nose Langley – Surrey

Operation Red Nose is a 100% volunteer-operated driving service that provides people safe, sober rides in their own vehicles during the holiday season. Volunteers can sign up for one or more nights, with additional help currently needed in the Langley-Surrey area.

Township of Langley

We are hosting our first ever Repair Café, and are looking for handy volunteers for this event! The Township also has other opportunities to volunteer throughout the year posted on our Volunteer page.

While the holiday season is a popular time for volunteering, if you weren’t able to help at your charity of choice this holiday season, consider volunteering during another time of the year. Lending a helpful hand and giving back to the community is a win-win, and an incredibly gratifying feeling to know that we can each make a difference for others!
