Profile Corner: Motorsport Industry Thrives in the Township of Langley

Barnes Harley-Davidson Buell, Greater Vancouver Powersports, Holeshot Motorsports, International Motorsports, Sea to Sky Motorsports, and Shail’s Motorcycles are all located within the Township, and are here to help you get out and off-road.

From ATVs, to snowmobiles, to specialty motorcycles, these businesses have the product, parts, accessories, and service centres for all your outdoor motoring needs.

Why are so many motorsport dealerships located in the Township? Because their customer base is located here and in nearby communities.

For International Motorsports in northwest Langley, James McChesney will tell you that they strategically relocated to the Township three years ago from South Delta for this exact reason. “More and more of our customers are riding off-road, so the further east you’re located - the better we can serve them.” International Motorsports is one of just three dealerships that’s authorized to stock and sell British Triumph motorcycles. McChesney feels they know their marketplace well, and that’s why they are situated in the Township. Visit internationalmotorsports.com.

Shail’s Motorcycles relocated to the Township five years ago from Vancouver as most of their staff and customers are located in what they consider to be a large motorcycle community in the Lower Mainland. Specializing in the sales and service of BMW motorcycles, Shane Sharma of Shail’s Motorcycles explains, “the Russian built sidecars are extremely popular in the Township. People are choosing the Royal Enfield and Ural sidecar to travel with their partner, friend, or pet.” Visit shailsmotorcycles.com.

Sea to Sky Motorsports have been in the Township for many years and recently relocated their business to Murrayville to take advantage of the nearby rural area where their market is situated. As Nick Langelaan likes to say, “we have three times the space of our previous location so we’re able to stock more inventory, have a large parking area for customers with truck and trailer to easily maneuver and, best of all, we’re in a location that customers just stop by to visit and check out the newest Polaris models and accessories.” Langelaan enjoys being able to provide his customers with a better experience in their Murrayville location. With motorsports designed for winter fun, all terrain and street use, the Township’s motorsport industry is thriving with a strong, loyal customer base.
